Sohna, Haryana, July 9

I went to a resort, Westin Sohna, to attend a corporate retreat. It’s way out there, an hour to ninety minutes drive south of Gurgaon. In contrast to Delhi, or the unsightly concrete jungle of Gurgaon, one can see trees and vegetation even in sweltering heat, and one can hear birds refreshingly all through the day. This is a retreat for Delhi-ites during the weekends.

But it can be so much better maintained. For example, the last 30 yards just before you enter the property is utterly riddled with deep potholes. Why?? As you enter the resort, you are treated to a bone-jerking entry. What could be a less pleasant welcome.  Why is management so utterly lazy that it can’t fix something as simple as this?
